CAMP BOW WOW LAUNCHES THE HELPING HOUNDS IN HAITI FUNDRAISING DRIVE
Emergency relief campaign for animals left homeless in Haitian Disaster

Boulder, CO: In the aftermath of one of the most devastating natural disasters of our time, countries from around the globe have focused their efforts on providing aid: food, water, shelter and medical assistance to the Haitian people. And unfortunately, when people suffer, so do their animals. Camp Bow Wow®, Home Buddies by Camp Bow Wow® and the Bow Wow Buddies® Foundation are participating in the international effort to help the surviving animals on Haiti by launching the Helping Hounds in Haiti Fundraising Drive to collect donations for the Animal Relief Coalition for Haiti (ARCH).

Donations to Camp Bow Wow’s Helping Hounds in Haiti fundraising effort can be made through local Camp Bow Wow or Home Buddies by Camp Bow Wow locations through the end of January or online at www.bowwowbuddies.com, type HAITI in the comments section. 100% of the funds raised will directly benefit ARCH.

The World Society for the Protection of Animals and the International Fund for Animal Welfare organized The Animal Relief Coalition for Haiti to coordinate the actions of all animal welfare organizations involved in response efforts. “The island nation of Haiti is one of the world’s poorest, most impoverished countries in the world,” said Heidi Ganahl, CEO and founder of Camp Bow Wow, Home Buddies by Camp Bow Wow and the Bow Wow Buddies Foundation. “There aren’t any animal welfare groups, shelters or veterinary schools there even in good times. Haiti’s primary industry is agriculture, which means that there are literally thousands of injured, hungry and homeless domestic pets and farm animals that need our help now. Once services are restored to the island and people begin to re-build their lives, the economy will suffer even more if their animals don’t survive. Please help us make a difference by donating to the Animal Relief Coalition for Haiti today. We’re working to make sure aid gets to as many animals, and in as short a time, as possible.”

LUCKY LOUIE IS GOING TO CAMP
Camp Bow Wow® Announces the Winner of the One HOUNDreth Camp Opening Drawing

St. Clair Shores, MI: The lucky winner of the nationwide drawing held by Camp Bow Wow®, the Premier Doggy Day and Overnight Camp® to celebrate the opening of the company’s 100th location in the United States has been selected. Louie, a pint-sized Yorkie and pet progeny of Heather Peralta, of St. Clair Shores, Michigan, has won a free year of Camp at Camp Bow Wow.

“On behalf of everyone at every Camp Bow Wow, I’d like to extend my congratulations to Heather and Louie,” said Heidi Ganahl, CEO and founder of Camp Bow Wow. “The opening of our 100th Camp was a huge milestone for us, we had to celebrate it with the people that helped make it possible. I’m so glad that a member of our puppy family will enjoy more time at Camp.” Louie will be attending Camp Bow Wow St. Clair Shores.

“We’re very excited that we won,” commented Peralta. “Louie loves going to Camp Bow Wow. He always comes home exhausted and happy. As for myself, I feel very comfortable taking him there. I really like it, and have been taking him to Camp once a week during my busy season at work, and once every couple of weeks when it’s slower. It’s great that he’ll be able to go more often now. I’m looking forward to taking advantage of the Camp’s grooming services as well.”

“Because he’s so small, I was concerned that he’d get lost among the larger dogs in the play yards when he first started going to Camp,” continued Peralta. “But I soon realized that it was a needless worry as the dogs in the small dog play yard are just his size. Even so, Tony and his staff always watch out for him and take him to the old dog lounge if he needs a break from the activities. I love that I can watch him while he plays by logging on to the Internet to see the live broadcast from the play yards. It’s very reassuring. I used to log on a lot more in the beginning, but I feel very comfortable knowing he’s being well cared for and having fun.”

“We think it’s very cool that Heather and Louie won the sweepstakes,” said Tony Caruso, owner of Camp Bow Wow St. Clair Shores, “Louie will fit right in with our other Day Care Member Dogs, a membership program developed by St. Clair Shores that gives pups unlimited access to the facilities for about the same cost as 7 days of Day Camp. The drawing was a great promotion, what a great way for corporate to give something back to the community and help a working family here in Michigan.” Camp Bow Wow St. Clair Shores is located at 19795 E. 9 Mile Road in St. Clair Shores.

DREAMING OF A PAWFECT HOLIDAY CELEBRATION…SEND YOUR DOG TO CAMP AT CAMP BOW WOW®

DREAMING OF A PAWFECT HOLIDAY CELEBRATION…SEND YOUR DOG TO CAMP AT CAMP BOW WOW®

Boulder, CO: With the Christmas howliday season in full swing, many puppy parents with travel plans have already reserved a cabin or two for their pups at Camp Bow Wow, the country’s Premier Doggy Day and Overnight Camp®. Assured that their beloved companions will have a rollicking, howling yuletide at the upscale digs for dogs under the constant supervision of a well-trained team of Certified Camp Counselors®.

Camp Bow Wow takes the worry out of the holidays for individuals on the road because they know that their Campers will have plenty of exercise, play and human attention during their stay. In Camp Bow Wow’s all-day play environment, pups can go between the indoor, climate-controlled play areas and adjacent outside areas at will: climb on play bridges, paddle in puppy pools or curl up in a sunny nook to nap whenever they chose. Camper guardians can check in on their pup from 30 or 3,000 miles away by logging on to the Camp Bow Wow website to watch real-time footage broadcast by one of the many live Camper Camssm installed around the camp facilities.

Camp Bow Wow is a great place for dogs to spend the holidays even if the family is staying in town. “If you’re planning to entertain a large crowd at your home during the holidays, sending your dog to Camp during the party can alleviate a lot of stress for both of you,” said Heidi Ganahl, CEO and founder of Camp Bow Wow “Especially if he or she is unnerved by large groups of people or you have a guest that’s afraid of or allergic to dogs. Most try to work around the issues by keeping their dogs confined to a separate room or outside while their guests are in the house. Unfortunately that tends to raise a dog’s anxiety level, since they generally want to be where the action and people are. Puppy parents experience a subtle rise in their own stress level as well because of the constant underlying worry that their dog will either get out and disrupt the party, run out of the house unaccompanied when a guest opens the door, or filch rich foods from the holiday table that can make him/her sick.”

“Happy dogs at Camp don’t experience the same anxieties that dogs boarding in traditional kennels often have because of being crated and bored,” continued Ganahl. “Our campers are so busy having fun, socializing and playing with the other dogs during the day, they’re tired out and ready to relax when it’s time to go back to their cabins.” After a full day of play, overnight campers at Camp Bow Wow retreat to a private, climate-controlled cabin, for dinner, downtime and a tasty Campfire Treat. The spacious cabins, all furnished with comfy cots and soft fleece blankets, are large enough that several campers from the same family can bunk together at their parent’s request. To avoid upset stomachs, parents of overnight campers are encouraged to bring their pup’s food from home. Camp Bow Wow’s fees are all-inclusive.

For the safety and security of all, new campers are required to participate in a free Interview day, before they attend camp. Canine campers must be at least four-months old; spayed or neutered if six months or older; up-to-date on their Rabies and Distemper vaccinations; have had a Bordetella (canine cough) vaccination within the last six months; and be in general good health and of sound temperament.

If you have a blended pet family (cats, dogs, reptiles, birds or fish) and are traveling out of town, you can rely on your local Home Buddies by Camp Bow Wow® and its dedicated staff to take care of your pets in the comfort of your own home. Home Buddies by Camp Bow Wow® offers a menu of in-home services that includes a range of services like dog walking and clean up services; installing Home Buddies CamsTM in your home so you can check in on your pet family’s antics on line; to spending quality time with your pets and overnight stays.

The latest brainchild from Camp Bow Wow creator Heidi Ganahl, Home Buddies, builds upon the Camp Bow Wow mantra, “It’s all about the dogs,” and applies it to all family pets.
