The very first Camp Bow Wow®, opened in 2000, was created to provide a fun, safe camp for dogs. We know that finding a place to leave your pup can be a daunting task; that your dog's unique personality and special needs deserve the attention of well-trained and caring staff members. Whether your dog is planning to stay with us for three weeks or just for the day, our goal is to make your vacation, business trip, or standard work day less stressful for you and your dog. At all of our locations across the US, including Nebraska, we provide dog day care with all-day play for our canine friends in well-supervised, clean, indoor/outdoor play areas because that's what we'd want for our dogs, and because we believe your dog deserves nothing but the best, too.
The Camp Bow Wow® - Nebraska dog day care experience has great developmental effects on canines. Dogs are social animals by nature, and they need to be put in group situations to enhance such skills. Time spent at camp teaches dogs how to interact with strangers, both canine and human, and how to handle being away from familiar surroundings. Have you ever come home, tired from a long day of work and been greeted by Fido who's ready to play? Your dog relies on you for entertainment and affection; it's not fair to either one of you to have him caged all day. Making Camp Bow Wow® part of a routine will improve daily life for both you and your pup.
In order to confidently open our doors to your kids, all pups must go through a rigorous screening process before becoming a certified camper. We monitor how well the dog interacts with unfamiliar people, as well as a few of our regular canine campers. All applicants must be spayed or neutered, current on Rabies, Distemper, and Bordatella vaccines, and in overall good health (camps outside of Nebraska may require additional vaccines). Once accepted into the dog day care program, any dog displaying signs of aggression will be isolated and removed from camp. Such a system helps us live up to the title of the gold standard in dog boarding.
When you compare Camp Bow Wow® to another dog day care or boarding facility you will notice several key differences.
First, we have a play all day atmosphere. Your pup plays all day long in our play areas. Many kennels do not offer a social play environment, and many that do only allow the dogs out for limited play time.
Second, if you take a tour of our facilities you will notice the spacious and comfy cabins we provide our boarding friends. Some kennels or dog daycares won't allow you to tour their boarding space or play areas, but take a look at those that do and you'll see the difference!
Third, whether your dog is boarding with us or just visiting for a day of doggy daycare, you can watch him play on our web cams. Unlike some dog day cares, we have multiple play areas so that the appropriate dogs can be grouped together based on their size and personalities. Every play area has a web cam.
Fourth, unlike many dog daycare and boarding facilities, we have an extensive training program for all of our camp counselors. In fact, all of them are required to be certified by the American Red Cross for pet first aid and CPR.
We don't have everything, however: we don't have all those extra fees you will find at other daycare and boarding facilities. Many of our competitors charge extra for play time, to administer medication, to feed your dog their own food, and for treats. At Camp Bow Wow®, we include all of this in our daycare and boarding rates.
